The Paterson, Vacy and Gresford Food Hamper & Gift Drive is now running, and everyone in the community is invited to take part. Itās the perfect time to sprinkle a little extra joyĀ around town.
Weāre collecting non-perishable food items along with new, unwrapped gifts for children.
Everything donated goes into hampers that are delivered quietly and respectfully to local families by Reverend Mary Horn from the Gresford Paterson Anglican Church. She can be contacted on 0418 611 778 if anyone ever needs to get in touch. A small gift or pantry item might seem simple, but it can really light up someoneās season.
š¬Non-perishable food suggestions:Ā pasta, rice, cereal, long-life milk and custard, tea, coffee, milo, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, soups, biscuits, crackers, sauces, tinned ham, jelly cups and Christmas treats like puddings or mince pies. Pantry staples most of us take for granted can make all the difference in the world to someone doing it tough this Christmas.
Anything shelf-stable and festive is helpful, a little treat can go a long sleigh!
šGift ideas:Ā LEGO, puzzles, board games, Uno cards, storybooks, chapter books, trucks, dolls and sporting equipment. Art supplies (sketching sets, watercolours, brush-pens and creative kits), headphones and gift cards are wonderful options for teens.
A quick note about teenagers:Ā this is the age group that receives the fewest donations. Let's make sure it's only the elf left on the shelf.
The closing date for donations is 10 December.
Thank you for your kindness! Together, weāll make the season merry and brightĀ for alllllll our local families. āØ
